Happy Chinese New Year! Celebrate the year of the Ox! If you happen to be in Los Angeles, here are 10 great places to be for festivities!

2.)Chinese New Year Floral Street Fair and Lantern Festival Head to Monterey Park anytime between Jan. 31st -Feb. 1st for the floral fair and lantern festival. (Sat 10am-8pm, Sun 10a-7pm) Fair features flower arranging, food, entertainment, art and crafts, carnival rides and more! Fun for the whole family.

3.)Empress Pavilion Feast on Peking Duck, Shark’s Fin Soup, Crab in a clay pot and yummy dim sum at this downtown LA location. Special New Year menu for those wanting to explore authentic cuisine.

4.)Golden Dragon and Chinese New Year Festival Experience 2 days of fun including food, music, dancing, games and a car show from Jan. 31-Feb. 1st. Free to view from the street, or $25.00 tickets in the grandstand.

5.) Chinois on Main Experience Chinese New Year Wolfgang Puck-style on the Westside. Asian-fusion menu includes scallops and sizzling catfish.

6.)Yang Chow Have a taste of authentic Mandarin and Szechwan cuisine at one of 3 Los Angeles locations. Started by 5 brothers that named the eatery after their hometown, and home of the world famous slippery shrimp dish.

7.)Tet Festival in Garden Grove Come celebrate the 27th year of the Tet Festival Jan. 30th-Feb 1st with dragon dancers, entertainment, pageants, rides, food, and cultural booths.

8.)Triumphal Palace This place is known for good eats and it’s super long line…but worth the wait. The elegant style Cantonese features dim sum and daily specials.

9.)Ocean Seafood Chinatown hot spot. Stadium-sized eatery has been award winning since 2002. Live fish, shrimp and crab.

10.)Mr Chow For those wanting a mix of celebrity sightings with their swanky Euro-Asian meals, Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills is the place to go.
