The Quiet Side of Sin City

Not even through January and I am already exhausted. =(

My second trip to Las Vegas this month was for the International Builders Show. My company I was representing, Halo, was great and everyone showed me exactly what “Southern Charm” was, and now I know everything I will ever need to know about LED lighting. Three of the staff also went to Auburn, so one of our setups was an Auburn-themed entertainment room. If you ever want to have a conversation starter, this is the way to do it.

It was a typically quiet week for me, but I did venture to a small, local sushi joint called Sushiwa in Henderson. The service was amazing, the food quite good and very low-key. I had to try the yellow-tail with jalapeno, as this seems to be my staple no matter where I go. We also tried an assortment of rolls, salmon and a crab salad starter.

I did venture to the strip and have drinks at the brand new Manderin Oriental and have to say, was thoroughly impressed. Exquisite, refined, beautiful artwork, clean lines and a 360 degree view of Las Vegas Blvd from 40 floors above.  It does win, however, the “most expensive” drink award. (Belvedere Soda, $22.00).
