Travel Guest Post: Seanna Dream Yacht Rental

The highly experienced owners of SEANNA knew exactly what they wanted when they set out to create their dream yacht.  With an informal ambience that easily lends itself to recreation and relaxation and a significant amount of outdoor space for entertaining, SEANNA holds more than one surprise for its guests. Among them are an on-board cinema, mini spa with two treatment rooms that can be connected for a couple’s massage, fully-equipped gym, and a raised observation deck with a glass-enclosed aerie offering breathtaking views.

At 213.3 feet, SEANNA provides vast amounts of interior space styled with modern leather panels and a contrasting mix of stained Italian walnut cabinetry highlighted with nickel inlays, and many pieces of bespoke furniture.  This warm atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for the original artwork that was commissioned by the yacht’s designer along with owner’s personal collection of Chihuly glass.

According to Tony Dixon, of Redman Whitely Dixon (RWD), the firm responsible for the interior design, “the owners’ wish was to tailor the spaces to be more reflective of their personal style of day-to-day living.  Rather than a formal dining room, they wanted a cinema and some comfortable snug spaces.” A portion of the footprint allocated for the dining room is now a library with a gas fireplace surrounded by dark marble. Pale gray chairs and a deep charcoal velvet sofa under a white ceiling and deep walnut cabinetry and joinery establish the color palette for much of the yacht. The effect is chic, relaxed with a hint masculinity.

Since the aft part of the main deck can sometimes lack privacy in marinas, RWD seized on this as the perfect location for the cinema where the focus would be inside. The dimensions of the room and its custom C-shaped centerline sofa were optimized for the 100-inch screen and its projector with an additional set of sofas along the room’s perimeter. The sheer curtains and the blackout curtains as well as the lights, projector, audio and screen controls are accessed via an iPad. In fact, virtually everything in the owner’s and guest accommodation runs on 13 iPads that are aboard.

SEANNA offers fantastic deck space on three levels, providing a variety of settings for dining and outdoor living. On the bridge deck there is a covered lounge seating area, while on the upper deck there is an oversize table for alfresco dining. There is also a large sun deck with plush sun beds aft and forward is bar and casual seating leading up to a Jacuzzi circled with sun pads.  A distinctive feature is the raised observation deck created by transforming the normally unused space under the radar mast.  ‘We totally capitalized on this by incorporating teak strips to give the space a cozy cabana feeling. It’s like a secret room,’ says RWD’s Dixon.

The swimming platform provides easy access to the water, while a virtual toy chest of water sports equipment ensures optimal enjoyment, including an Aqua park trampoline, two 3-man jetskis, canoes, waterskis, wakeboards & tows, snorkeling and fishing gear, and two tenders.

SEANNA can accommodate 12 guests in 7 cabins and is served by a crew of 16. The Master cabin features his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms, steam room, and Jacuzzi bath, lounge and study. SEANNA is available for charter through BURGESS, and sails the Caribbean in the winter and the Mediterranean in the summer with weekly rates starting from €434,000 Euros excluding operating expenses.
