Beauty: 6 Interesting Spa Experiences

There aren’t many terms in this world which to me are more associated for with relaxation than the term Spa. Whenever someone mentions it I envisage being laid on a massage table sipping a mojito whilst having the muscles in my back turned into a warm jelly. Nowadays though, everything can be taken to the extreme. Here is a list of the top 6 truly unique spa experiences… but be warned I’m yet to define experiences.

1. Slimy & Bizzarre Snail Massage

In the Siberian city of Krasnoyars snail slime is the fountain of youth. At a luxury spa in the Russian Metropolis you can pay to have this treatment and specially selected african mollusks of various sizes are put on your face and body, left to explore and slime away! The slime or excretions, which is rich in glycolic acid and elastin is thought to be good for your skin. The results are rumoured to reduce aging, wrinkles, scars and bring your skin back to life. Not sure it’d be for me!

2. Full Body Snake Massage

This is either your worst nightmare (it is mine) or something you’d like to experience (hands up, if you would?). But at a Spa/Firm in Northern Israel will offer you a full body snake massage for the limited cost of $70. So if you’ve got $70 and are either, A) in love with snakes or, B) clinically insane. This treatments for you! Certainly an experience if you ask me.

3. Have a Massage Underwater

This is less like a pastime for the clinically insane and more of something that a normal person would like to do. But in an exclusive island in the Maldives there is an underwater spa. You can enjoy a spa treatment whilst looking at the tropical fish exploring the coral reefs of Indian Ocean.

4. Spa With a View

The Ritz Carlton Spa in Hong Kong provides you with the unique experience of a facial on the 119th floor of a building. With views like this though it may be advisable to decline on cucumbers for your eyes.

5. Coffee, Red Wine or Green Tea Spa Bath

Japan renowned for its creativity has excelled once more. At a Spa in Hakone, Japan they have a distinct spa experience you’ll struggle to find elsewhere. At this resort they have  Green Tea, Coffee and Wine Spa Baths. All Spa Baths are filled with real coffee, red wine or green tea. Each is rumoured to have different unique rejuvenating effects, but is certainly a unique experience.

6.  Moroccan Hammam Rhassoul Mud Massage

For a distinct treatment you’re unlikely to forget why not try out a Rhassoul Mud Massage. Delivered to you on a heated Moroccan hammam slab a therapist washes then applies a full body rhassoul mud massage using Swedish techniques, which relaxes and soothes muscles. It’s exfoliating qualities then go to work, leaving your skin toned and moisturised. This luxuryspa treatment is great, relaxing and unique experience available at a variety of Spas.
