Travel: 5 Things to See & Do in NYC After Hurricane Sandy

 

After the hurricane, visitors may be wondering what is open and what to see and do after the devastation that took place in several areas in and around New York City.  Here is a list of what is open and available for touring:

1.) Broadway Shows. Check local listings for open shows at Broadway.com. Most shows by this time are back up and running. Some favorites: Mary Poppins, Newsies, The Lion King and Wicked.

2.) The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Visit the largest art museum in the United States established in 1870 with extensive  collections from around the world. Plenty for everyone to see and do, with several special events throughout the year.

3.) The Museum of Modern Art. A favorite place of many art lovers, this Midtown museum houses 6 floors of truly exception works of modern art around a huge atrium.

4.) The Empire State Building Observatory. No visit to New York City is complete without a visit to The 102-story Empire State Building. For over 40 years, it was the world’s tallest building.

5.) Top of the Rock. On top of the famous Rockefeller Center, visit Top of the Rock for unobstructed views of the city that never sleeps.
