Travel Guest Post: How Can You Get Too Much Coachella?

coachella-2013

I don’t know if you’re as psyched up as I am for this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. They just announced the performers, and it’s a great mix of established acts and new bands I’ve heard about but have never seen play live. I’ve been a fan of headliners The Red Hot Chili Peppers for years, and I’ve never seen them put on a bad show. I could say the same for most of the groups I’ve seen who are playing at Coachella.

The best thing about this year’s festival for me is that I bought a couple VIP passes for both weekends to the show. I got them at VIP Concierge. They give me access to a few really great private areas with full cash bars, extra food venders, secluded shady spots, picnic tables and extra restrooms. There are even a few couches for lounging.

If you’re serious about your music festivals, you definitely want to get VIP passes. You get to enjoy the festivities in a way most people never get to experience. You can mingle with some of the acts, watch the shows from a unique vantage point and see the inner workings that make a festival work. A bash like Coachella that runs over two weekends requires a lot of work.

This year’s fiesta is on consecutive April weekends from the 12th to the 14th and 19th to the 21st. Other acts that will be doing their thing are Blur, Phoeniz and The Stone Roses, who are headlining with the Peppers. The days and nights will rock with shows by Lou Reed, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Passion Pit, Grinderman, The Wu-Tang Clan, The Postal Service, The xx, Sigur Rós, Of Monsters and Men, Vampire Weekend, Bassnectar How to Destroy Angels, Modest Mouse, New Order and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs.

For some people, both weekends might be too much, but I say’ “How can you get enough of a good thing?” I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing than listening to great live music while I’m hanging out with my friends.

There’s room in the VIP area for you and your friends too. All you have to do is head over to VIP Concierge, and buy yourself a few passes. You don’t have to go for all six nights, but if you go for the first weekend, you’ll want to come back for the second one. At least that’s what happens to me every year. Plus, I heard that this year, the Rolling Stones (yes, THOSE Rolling Stones) might be at the festival. I can’t imagine how cool it would be to be hanging out on the couches, nursing a Margarita, and Mick Jagger or Keith Richards or one of the guys comes over and sits next to me. Yikes! Of course, you never know. All I know is I always have a blast at Coachella, and thanks to VIP Concierge, I’m going to have even more fun this year at the show with my VIP passes.
