Travel: Disleyland Paris

Disneyland-Paris-at-night

Most children, if you ask them, would tell you that they would absolutely love to go to Disneyland Paris. All the excitement of an enormous funfair all wrapped up in Disney magic and sprinkled with fried, sugary food – what more could a child ask for? Yet few parents can afford to treat their children to a day there, partly because of the costs of the hotel and the transport.

But what if you could take your children to Disneyland Paris for the day and spend less than £250 on coach tickets and have two nights away from home? And those prices are in the middle of the school summer holidays in August, with iDBUS. Take the coach to Paris overnight, arrive at Charles de Gaulle in the morning, take a short bus ride to the Disneyland park and return by coach that night.

Does taking a coach to Paris with your young children sound fun? Probably not. But with the prospect of Disneyland Paris at the end of a long journey, the time will fly. You will need to be organised, with snacks and drinks, plus bedtime stories and cuddly toys. And you’ll need to accept that for those two nights on the bus none of you will get as good a night’s sleep as you would at home. But two nights plus a full day at the park: the children will be beside themselves.

Alternatively, you could take the daytime coach and spend a night in a Disney hotel or other local hotel (there are plenty that are only a short bus journey away from the park) and all get a good night’s sleep in between. Most children love travelling by bus and you can get them into the spirit of the whole thing by letting them pack their own hand luggage with the things that they want to take with them. Comics, hand-held consoles and mp3 players will all help to keep them entertained and you don’t need to worry about batteries running out if you book with iDBUS since they have electrical sockets on board that you can use, plus free Wi-Fi.

If you’re not sure whether you can afford it all yet, you don’t need to panic because you can book at the last minute before you want to leave with iDBUS and not be penalised for failing to book early: their tickets cost the same no matter when you book them and only vary depending on the date you want to travel.

Travelling by coach with your children is much less stressful than in a plane: there are no sore ears to fret over; no cramped seats (at least not with iDBUS) and you can be sure of booking seats together. There are also toilets on board plus plenty of rest stops to allow you and your family to get some fresh air and a bit of a runabout before getting back on board.

If taking your children to Disneyland Paris is something you always wanted to do but thought you couldn’t afford, have a look at the dates and prices available through iDBUS and see if they can change your mind.
