Like most girls, I have a fascination with Paris. The city, the lights, the food, the accents. It is no surprise that the book I just picked up is Paris, I’ve Grown Accustomed to Your Ways” by Ruth Yunker.

Ruth Yonker is a writer and humorist that tells the tales of her time in Paris as a part-time tourist, part-time resident. She explores the city with ease and makes herself feel right at home. She finds her favorite arrondissement (the fifteenth, if you were wondering) and shops in Montmarte and doesn’t descend to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

She sees passionate love in unexpected places on the streets of Paris, watches cowboys riding the metros and is won over by a little boy in St. Suplice. She discovers there are rules for finishing one’s plate in restaurants, but there are no rules for which pain restique will make the very best toast in the morning.
