For those seeking adventure, check out the drive-in volcano, Soufriere Sulphur Springs, the Botanical Gardens, the Majestic twin Peaks “The Pitons”, the rain forests, and Pigeon Island National Park, which is home to Fort Rodney, an old British military base. For water explorers, St. Lucia has been put on the map for it’s superb diving experiences and underwater worlds to explore. One local favorite is the coal pot. This traditional stew can be found at many local restaurants, as well as the vegetarian or meat roti. Another local specialty is banana and salt fish.  Barbecue is also immensely popular, with community events revolving around the well flavored meal.
