Positano is definitely the right place to be for a jet-set night life. You may have a fine dinner at one of the sea side restaurants over looking the beautiful calm blue bay of the Mediterranean Sea then take a walk along the shore line stopping for a drink at a typical bar or cafe of the town.. The shops are open till 11 p.m for your conveinance, so that you can enjoy the days at the beach or out on an  excursion.

Here in the summer it is easy to meet up for a drink or at dinner at a restaurant overlooking the sea and a dance at the Music on the Rocks, the historic disco on the beach of Positano.

There is a wide choice! Get a drink made at Buca di Bacco, on the patio leaning towards the beach. This is an indispensable ritual, especially in summer, when at the table next to you it is easy to meet some celebrities. Buca di Bacco is a great place to enjoy an aperitif and as you are sipping your drink, there is a good chance of meeting some stars along the way.

For dinner, you can then move to the upper floor, on the terrace restaurant. For those who prefer more private places away from the crowds the right place for a drink or dinner is Palazzo Murat, historic hotel born from the restoration of a building of the eighteenth century.

Here, sit down in the botanical garden, illuminated by the light of a thousand candles that create a dreamlike and unreal. Going to the Fornillo beach, there’s Next 2: minimal-chic furnishings and a terrace open onto a landscape of charm. You can choose between the restaurant and the wine bar or simply sit on the terrace for a drink.

On summer evenings you can stay up late in the music lounge. Towards midnight, then you must stop at the Music on the Rocks, the only club in Positano: dancing on a terrace on the rocks, a few steps from the sea.

The restaurant, however, that has made the history of the nights on the Amalfi Coast, is located in Praiano: it is the nightclub L’Africana, built in 1962 in a cave almost at sea level. Closed for a long period it has just reopened: music and guests have changed but the magical atmosphere is always the same. Here you can enjoy a 60s and 70s international jet-set: The Platters played and Aristotle Onassis and Jackie Kennedy danced.

Among the usual guests were the choreographer Rudolf Nureyev, who was home on island in the archipelago of Li Galli, in front of Positano, the writer Gore Vidal and the Queen of Holland.

Then to end an evening of glamour, the Legendary dance night club awaits you for a night of pleasure. The club is located on the border of a small cliff that is over looking Positano Beach.

This will be the most picturesque night life you will ever experience that only comes in dreams.

So, if you’re planning to do a Rome to Pompeii day trip, let me suggest you to stay overnight to spend unforgettable moments in this incredible so small and so smart village!
