Lifestyle: A Speakeasy in the Back of a Speakeasy

This month was the exclusive launch of Project 1919, a 3-month speakeasy pop-up at The Mulberry Project in Little Italy.  Named after the year prohibition was enforced across the United States,  Project 1919 is located behind a secret, slotted door in the back of the speakeasy.

Led by renowned mixologists Sam Ziar (Orient Express, Le Grenier, 50 Parties, and The Bourgeois Pig) and Jasper Soffer (Spice Market, Soho House, Pegu Group, and Shochu Lounge),The curated cocktail menu will use barrel-aged spirits with a focus on dark blends like the Charles ‘Lucky’ Luciano, made with Fernet Branca, Rye and Cocchi Rosso and the Hymie Weiss, made with Bourbon Becherovka, Maple Syrup and Smoked Salt.

With opulent décor and art by local New Yorkers, Project 1919 is sure to transport you to the prohibition era! Reservations must be made in advance in order to secure one of the expertly hidden tables, which are available Monday through Saturday from 5 PM until closing.
