Who wants to be rushed when they visit Quebec? No one. And, why would you? The province has some of the most unique and diverse food in the country. And, eating on the run is more of an exception than the rule here. Expect to dine-in for a few hours – yes hours. It’s a slow pace, but you’ll see why when you set foot in just about any restaurant. Here are just a few of the places you should check out while you’re here.

Le Chaval de Jade

This restaurant is one of a growing number of places that caters to the gluten-free crowd. If you’re staying in one of the Tremblant hotels, you’ll love the fact that all of the food here is locally sourced and reasonably priced. Sit inside or out on the veranda. Most people who eat here say the staff are exceptionally nice and gracious.

Mille Pates

You’ll probably need a reservation for this place, as it’s quite popular. However, it’s one of the best restaurants for pasta. It’s a small, boutique place where you can not only eat but buy freshly made pasta. They even have gluten-free pasta. How’s that for unique?

You can also buy frozen meals and take-out, though it’s not recommended. The meals here are extremely well-priced, starting at $12 to $26. At a time when a lot of restaurants are buying in their ingredients, it’s refreshing to see a restaurant do it right.

Creperie Catherine

This is a great family restaurant that’s also easy on the pocketbook. You can dine in or take out, though the atmosphere here might convince you to stay in, even if you’re in a hurry. Crepes are the specialty here, so indulge your senses.

Le Grill / St Georges

If you’re looking for a break from the usual fried food affair, you’ll love this authentic grill. There’s a bar here, but you can still take the family here during the week. This place also caters to a late-night crowd. It’s probably the best steakhouse in Tremblant. Everything is made from scratch onsite using locally-sourced ingredients when possible.

If you dine in here, make sure at least one person tries the steak. This place has a lot on the menu, but you don’t want to walk out of here without at least a bite of something off the grill. They also have some good pasta options, with smoked chicken ravioli being a house favorite.

Les Copains d’abord

This restaurant is moderately expensive, but is good for business luncheons or entertaining guests. It’s situated in downtown Tremblant and will inspire you with its modern chic ambiance and contemporary French cuisine. If you show up in the off-season, you may end up with a limited menu, but that shouldn’t detract from the experience because everything here is good. Most of the food you eat here will be locally sourced and fresh.

The owner of the restaurant may even come out to greet you, which is rare these days.
