Summer time in Courmayeur on the Italian side of Mont Blanc is perfect for an amazing journey through the gastronomic delicacies of Aosta Valley, the smallest region of Italy. In July and August, the series of events Le delizie e le virtù della Valle d¹Aosta will offer a variety of programs and lots of surprises.

On July 25 -27, the historic district of Courmayeur becomes a colorful stage. A varied program of entertainment is scheduled for three days of fun, with traditional dancing and music down the street with the folk group Les Badochys and the Courmayeur-La Salle marching band. The Street Party complete with music food and wine tastings will be a hotspot for young travellers.

The Aosta Valley delicacies will be the authentic ingredients of pre-dinner drinks offered at the four Aperitivo con lo chef meetings. Renowned professional barmen and chefs will make stunning cocktails served with finger foods. Cheese, wine, cured meats, honey and rye bread will be the simple ingredients used, and these typical, local gastronomic products will speak for themselves.

The summer edition of Shopping & Gourmet will bring together fashion brands of the most exclusive shops of Courmayeur and the local food producers. The old village ovens will house two Œgourmet¹ workshops. Courmayeur still holds a strong symbolic meaning for the local community. Participants will learn new cooking skills in the place where in the olden days bread was baked.

The celebration of these well-established traditions and the recognition of the excellence of the local wine and food will continue with the events scheduled at the end of the summer. The Marché Agricole de la Valdigne is an exhibition and market of the finest regional products. On September 5th, food and wine fair Lo Matsòn will take place featuring all of the delicacies produced in Courmayeur and the surrounding valleys.

A great way to understand and enjoy the vibrant culture of this region is participating in the celebrations dating back to the old times. In Courmayeur, village feasts are an important part of the local heritage and represent a beautiful occasion to experience the genuine and joyful spirit shared by the people of this area. One of the most anticipated events is the San Pantaleone Feast, the local patron saint celebration.

Courmayeur also hosts several fashionable mountain resorts and distinguishes itself as a Œgourmet¹ destination with an inimitable Italian styleIts unique features have won the sympathy of the multi-starred British chef Heston Blumethal, who has selected Courmayeur as the ideal location for his Mountain Gourmet Ski Experience, an exclusive Œgourmet¹ event organized in wintertime.
