Located on the island of Vanua Levu, Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort overlooks the peaceful waters of Savusavu Bay and offers an exclusive escape for those looking to experience magical natural surroundings and authentic Fijian traditions.

With its pristine waters, Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort offers the best sites for snorkeling and – even better – night snorkeling led by the resort’s very own marine biologist, Johnny Singh.

Guests of all ages can learn about the mysterious ocean blue at night and all of the fun creatures that make an appearance. The most common fish guests see during the night snorkel include:

  • Soldier fish
  • Squirrel fish
  • Pearly cardinals
  • Lion fish
  • Parrot fish

At night, snorkelers also have the advantage of not just seeing squids, but actually touching them! And to top off the experience, at the end of the excursion, on the floating dock when all of lights are turned off, guests will observe “bioluminescence” on themselves. These are tiny sparks of green light made by animal-like planktons when they get agitated. For more information: http://www.fijiresort.com
