Rome, as well as Milan can be referred to the best places for shopping in Italy with the only difference that every house and street of Rome is strongly associated with the history. And this is actually Rome’s great advantage, because it gives the opportunity to combine shopping with an exciting sightseeing.

Almost on every street of the city you can find trendy shops, offering exclusive branded items and clothing of the democratic brands, as well as various souvenirs, jewelry and accessories. But if you prefer to shop efficiently, then get ready to reveal some of the best places for that!

Via del Corso
This is, probably, the most famous shopping street in Rome, stretching from Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo. Via del Corso and the adjacent streets boast of the high concentration of shops, department stores, hotels, cafes and restaurants.

It should be mentioned that Via del Corso is quite a democratic place in terms of the prices, as well as the other streets in the surrounding area, such as Via Barberinini and Via Vittoria. So, shopping in that area can be very cost-effective.
In addition, on the Via del Corso there’s the oldest Roman department store named “La Rinascente”, where except for clothing, you can buy high-quality cosmetics and perfumes.
The most fashionable street in Rome can be reached by the subway (Flaminio Station).

Via Condotti
Via Condotti is a paradise for fans of high-end shopping, where you can find the stores of such famous fashion houses as Hermes, Gucci, Armani, Valentino, Cartier, Trussardi, Dolce & Gabbana, Battistoni, Ferragamo, etc.
In addition, the street boasts of the offices of the famous fashion designers. For example, in 1905 the famous Bulgari brand, specializing in the production of jewelry, watches, leather accessories and perfumes, opened there its first atelier.
By the way, not so long ago the entrance to the stores on Via Condotti was requiring payment, but today you can visit the stores for free. So, even if you are not going to buy anything there, you can simply enjoy exclusive items of the well-known designer brands.

Via Condotti crosses Via del Corso and runs to Piazza di Spagna. You can reach the street by the subway (Spagna Station).

Via Nazionale
Via Nazionale is one of the oldest Roman streets connecting Termini Station with Piazza Venezia. In the Middle Ages the street was connecting the residence of the Pope with the Porta Pia. Later the street was filled with the most luxurious houses and big hotels. Currently, Via Nazionale is a popular place for shopping.

On both sides of the street there are boutiques of the famous brands – Bata, Max Mara, Benetton, Falco, Guess, Sandro Ferrone, Elena Miro, Sisley, etc. In addition, there are many shops selling gorgeous leather goods including belts, shoes, bags and wallets. On Via Nazionale the stores of the famous brands adjoin the lesser known ones.
You can reach Via Nazionale by the subway (Repubblica Station).

Via del Babuino
Via del Babuino, despite its unremarkable name, is the street, where you can find quite expensive stores of Rome selling a variety of antiques – from the tableware to furniture and works of art, executed both by ancient and modern masters.

On Via del Babuino there are several art workshops, where you can purchase a variety of paintings and sculptures, and order your own portrait on the background of the Roman landmarks. Since recently, the street houses such stores as Tiffany and Chanel.
Via del Babuino is located in the historic center of Rome. You can get there by the subway (Spagna or Piazza del Popolo Stations).

Via Cola di Rienzo
Via Cola di Rienzo is a great place for shopping. There’s a great variety of stores selling shoes, bags and accessories; lots of jewelry shops and several boutiques selling youth apparel. Also, there is Coin – a large shopping mall, where you can find shops for men and women of the renowned brands such as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, clothing for children and adolescents, excellent leather produce, luxurious perfumes and cosmetics.
Via del Renzo stretches from Piazza del Popolo to the Vatican City. The nearest subway station is Ottaviano.

Porta Portese Flea Market
If you love interesting and original things, then you definitely need to check out this flea market, which is the largest one in Europe!
One part of the market, which is near Piramide metro station, offers single-type cheap clothes and shoes. But don’t hasten to buy the first thing that allures you, – head on to another part of the market, which is more valuable for shoppers, because there’s antique furniture, utensils, jewelry and even the prints of the 18th century!

Furthermore, in the market except for the ordinary citizens of the adjacent areas, you can also meet very respectable people, searching for the old collections of the famous brands. You should agree that it’s a great success for fashionista’s with a small budget to buy exclusive shoes, clothes and handbags at the price of 25-35 EUR!
In general, whatever your tastes are, in Porta Portese flea market you can find the goods that will satisfy you.
The biggest disadvantage of the market is that it’s open only on Sundays from 6 AM till 2 PM. You can enter it from Porta Portese gate.
