Mediation helps ground you and become more aware of your surroundings. It can be done anytime, anywhere. Here are some tips for meditating while traveling:

1.) Breathe.

All mediation is based on the breath. Concentrate on your breath, and be mindful of your body. Long, deep breathing is a great way to center your mind and body.

2.) Find a mantra.

Mantra is a combination of words that are repeated to focus your mind and drive your attention inward, bringing upon stillness and peace. The mantra can be something as simple as “I am happy” or anything you would like to focus on. Mediations can be any length of time, so start with something you can handle (5-10 minutes) and move up gradually.

3.) Listen to a guided mediation.

When starting to mediate, it can be easier to use a guided mediation. Find thousands online at sites like youtube.com, and find something that you either want to work on or resonants with you. Mediation studios and groups are also popping up all over the US, so check out places like ZivaMind.com and group mediations like The Big Quiet.
