It’s so true that Thailand is a beautiful Land of Smiles.

Wherever you go the friendly locals always have a smile for you. If you’ve never been to this exotic destination before, you really don’t know what you’re missing. There are the most fantastic beaches imaginable that are palm fringed with warm turquoise waters lapping the soft sand. Don’t miss out on visiting the many bustling cities that are home to:-

  • Delicious food markets
  • Vibrant nightlife
  • Exquisite temples
  • Unique restaurants and bars

Thailand is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, not only for backpackers but for people of all ages. There are reputable travel companies online that offer specialised Thailand holiday packages, so take a look.

What is Thailand famous for?

You could say Thailand is famous for many different things. Film makers have used Chiang Mai in the North as a backdrop for the Pierce Brosnan and Owen Wilson’s film “No Escape”.

The Kung Fu scenes from the film “Man with the Golden Gun” were also shot in Thailand. The award winning film “The Bridge over the River Kwai”, although filmed in Sri Lanka, was based on the real bridge over the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, close to the Burmese border with Thailand.

With all of this fame on its doorstep, Thailand is now a booming tourist destination. If you’re after relaxing on sun drenched beaches, taking a swim in the Andaman Sea, then returning to a first class hotel, Thailand’s the place for you.

Everything you could possibly wish for

If you have any reservations about Thailand, forget them. It’s one of the safest, friendliest places on earth. There are many beautiful, luxurious hotels, b&bs, guest houses and backpacker hostels to choose from that have:

  1. Comfortable beds
  2. Bathrooms, some with bathtubs
  3. Breakfast facilities
  4. Air conditioning or fans
  5. Balconies

Whatever you need, it’s all there. If something is missing, don’t hesitate to ask one of the staff who will do all they can to put the matter right.

Plenty of things to do and see

For the more energetic visitors, there’s so much to do and see. Choose from:

  1. Trekking in the forests
  2. White water rafting down rapids
  3. Swimming under waterfalls
  4. Mountain biking

If you’re more of a chilling out type of person, there are delightful gardens to explore, elephant camps, butterfly farms and caves to visit. Check out the many hot springs where you can swim in hot pools, have a meal and admire the views.
