Interview with Nu

Nu

Name: Call me Nu (short for Nuran).

Job Title: Author, blogger, and businesswoman.

Website: www.nuoclock.com

How did www.nuoclock.com come about?

At the time I was writing a book to help people overcome every kind of addiction and dependence, and was sharing some parts with friends and family, getting positive feedback which encouraged me to write more, so I started the blog as a platform for my writing.

It was a way for me to reach and help more people and also build an audience for my future works. Addiction is an important subject, because our free will and our freedom hang in the balance when addiction starts to dictate what we do. I love writing and my purpose of helping people made writing worthwhile, so here I am now!
Your website is available in 3 languages. What languages and why did you decide on those 3?

English, French and Turkish. I believe the strongest borders online are linguistic. As someone who can speak few languages, I’m trying to bridge that language barrier and reach as many people as I can.

Where do you see the site in 5 years?

I’m more a present-focused person. You know they say “We make plans and God laughs”! I’d love to still be writing as it’s my passion, I also really enjoy coaching, so I’d be thrilled to be able to combine the two – I’m working on a new project, just trying to find time to make it work. Let’s see how it goes.

What inspired you to launch the website?

It’s clear there’s a real demand for quality information and discussion when it comes to living a healthy and happy life. I wanted to be a respected voice in this area, it grew from there. Starting off focused on addiction and recovery and expanding to now include a wide range of different topics, especially healthy thinking and healthy living, Noddiction has grown at a very rapid pace in just over a year of existence.
