Located in Plymouth, Massachusetts is a unique walking experience meant for reflection, solitude and encouraging gratitude.

Created by founder Anne Jolles, who makes her living as a life coach, author, TEDx speaker, and Grace TrailⓇ resiliency model creator she thrives on working with people wishing to transform their lives into something more stress-free, meaningful and present.

Blending both life and research, Jolles created the Grace TrailⓇ in Plymouth, MA and has shared it with thousands as it evolved for over a decade. The trail has since morphed from a physical place to workshops, webinars and retreats.

We sat down with Jolles to find out more about the Grace Trail, her inspiration and motivation.

What do you do?

Professionally,I am a life coach to individuals and groups, a best- selling author, a TEDx speaker, speaker and the creator of the Grace Trail®. Grace Trail is a simple process that guides you to find hope and possibility in the challenges and confusion of life. You walk it for the sake of living your best and most courageous life. “GRACE” is an acronym with five questions that naturally flow from each word:

Gratitude:
Even though life is difficult, what am I Grateful for?

Release:
What do I need to Release to move forward?

Accept:
What is calling out for Acceptance in my life?

Challenge:
What Challenge would I like to choose for myself to move forward?

Embrace:
What can I Embrace as possible in my precious life?

The Grace Trail concept began as an actual inspirational trail in my hometown of Plymouth, MA. Since 2012, thousands have walked its path, but you don’t have to come to Plymouth to walk Grace Trail. You can walk it anywhere, anytime, with anyone just by asking those five questions and listening for your own answers. That is the essence of Grace Trail… I like to say it is the trail where your answers await your arrival.

Personally, I am a mother to 2 adult children and I am married to the same great guy for 37 years. We walk Grace Trail together daily… It has brought us closer during some very difficult times. I love to paint, hike, dance, read, write, travel and see my friends. I am very curious and I love a good adventure.

How did you get into your profession?

I have been a certified Life Coach for 18 years. 20 years ago, I read an article about one of the first coaches in the Boston area and I knew that was what I wanted to do… I went and got a degree in coaching. It is one of the best decisions of my life. This is where I am meant to be. How lucky am I? I get to do this everyday? I work with courageous people who would like to make changes in their life or work and they are willing to put in the hard work necessary to do it. My clients inspire me. They make amazing changes and accomplish so much.

What does a day in the life look like for you?

Lately I am spending much time developing new products to make it easier for people to not only walk their own Grace Trail but to create their own Grace Trail.

In addition to my book, “Grace Trail- Find Your Footing and Move Toward the Life You Were Meant to Live”, I recently launched a deck of 57 inspirational cards called Grace Trail “Hope Cards”. This a collection of 150 Grace Trail questions and images is designed to surprise, inspire and guide you towards hope and possibility.

Also, just launched, is a workbook entitled, “How To Create Your Own Grace Trail”. This allows people all over the world to create their own Trail, wherever they wish. This is so rewarding because Trails are being built behind schools, in hospitals, recovery centers, churches, parks, convention halls, cafes… Grace Trails are popping up to fill a need that people are having in this crazy time in our world.

No matter where I am, my day includes walking outside. There is a latin expression ”Solvitur Ambulando”. This means, “It is solved by walking.” I really believe that. There is magic in movement especially outside. Nature informs us and guides us.

I work with clients both in- person and on the phone as well as with groups. Businesses are increasingly inviting Grace Trail into corporate America to help their employees cope with the pressures.

What is the inspiration behind your work?

I created the Grace Trail® to help me cope when my son was in combat in Afghanistan in 2012. And, yes, gratefully, my son did make it home. I know people think about that but are afraid to ask. Since that time, it has helped me and thousands of others through some very tough periods. This simple, yet impactful process begins with gratitude and ends with hope. I hear from people all over the country who are walking their own Grace Trails and finding the relief they yearn for. Grace Trail is truly the language of resiliency, hope and possibility.

What is your mission?

My mission is to spread joy, hope and resiliency worldwide and it is happening. People are creating their own Grace Trails all over the country. This world is yearning for a simple way to connect with what is strong and true so they can move forward through the chaos and adversity that surrounds us.

How do you ground yourself?

I walk outside in nature and I ask the 5 Grace Trail Questions: “GRACE” is an acronym with five questions that naturally flow from each word:

What’s your life motto?

Envision what you hope for and then hang it out there on the horizon where you can see it and walk towards that hope and possibility everyday…

Do you have a mantra:

When in doubt, smile and keep walking.

What inspires you?

People who overcome large life situations and move through them to a better place. With our rapidly changing world situation, it will not be the strongest who survive… It will be the one who can most readily adapt to new situations. We have to constantly re- invent ourselves.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Don’t give advice… help others to find their own answers. View people as creative, resourceful and whole.
