This holiday season I was in Scottsdale and Las Vegas. Here were a couple of the highlights:
scottsdale
Stopping by award-winning Sweet Republic to sample their all-natural ice cream. Tried the almond buttercrunch, salted butter caramel peanut butter chip and sugar & spice. Yum! Purchased a marshmallow toasting kit as a gift.
I love North at the Kieland Commons. Restaurateur Sam Fox has a slew of Arizona eateries including Blanco, Bloom, Chloe’s Corner, The Greene House, Sauce and True Food Kitchen. All are supposed to be amazing. North is upscale yet casual, with a dark feel to it. Sampled a half and half pizza.
After hearing so much about the Desert Botanical Garden, I decided to visit the quiet oasis of desert plants in the middle of America’s fifth largest city. For the holidays they have it dressed up in thousands of lights and different forms of entertainment in the evening hours. Perfect for all ages!
Having cocktails at the very mid-century-mod Valley Ho. So Palm Springs!
Getting talked into the Signature Butter Cake at Maestro’s Ocean Club. One of the best deserts I have EVER had!
las vegas
Staying at The Wynn. I had no idea it was so posh! I love the beautiful gardens.
Trying Serendipity 3. Be careful of the drink sizes! Below is the Raspberry Truffle and Peanut Butter Truffle.
Nice to see the Christmas spirit, even if it is in the middle of the desert and nicknames “Sin City”.
The amount of scenery you get to see along the way is amazing. Desert Landscapes, Big City Lights, Hoover Dam…you get it all.
