Summertime means summer travel. With summer travel comes the worry of expenses, paid time off, and so much more. But, if we’re lucky, we take our big vacation, spend a chunk of savings, and have the time of our lives. Oftentimes, when we have the luxury to take a special vacation we try to make that vacation revolve around our interests and passions. Nature addicts often try to travel to national parks and outdoorsy destinations, while beach addicts skirt off to the best beaches they can manage. Travel can be a wonderful way to expand your knowledge and appreciation of something. For architecture and building buffs, travel and vacation can be one of the most illuminating and inspiring ways to learn about new building trends and experience some of the best constructions in the world. These three luxury hotels display some of the most inspiring architectural structures and building styles in history—and they’re absolutely amazing vacation spots.

Treehotel- The Mirrorcube

This unique hotel concept is truly one of a kind and truly breathtaking. The Treehotel offers six different room options, each tucked in its own way up in the treetops of Northern Sweden. This hotel presents a premiere example of a modern minimalist building aesthetic. With conceptual building ideas and clean straight lines, these hotel “rooms” are any building and construction enthusiasts dream. The Mirrorcube room offers a camouflaged mirror-walled cube in the treetops. The structure is completely hidden with the reflection of its beautiful surrounding landscapes. The inside of the space is entirely birch wood with natural colors and lighting.

Cappadocia Cave Hotel

This beautiful and awe-inspiring hotel is located in the ancient village of Urgup in Turkey. Made up of six cave houses, 30 rooms dating back to the fifth and sixth centuries, and a 19th century Greek Mansion, there is nothing typical about this vacation destination. The Cappadocia Cave Hotel is a beautiful display of the union of nature’s construction and man’s construction. Architects and builders will marvel at the history and story behind the walls they are staying in. The entire city is made up of ancient cave houses and unique styling unique to that area. With walls, floor, and ceilings of stone, it’s easy to become lost into a new time and place staying here.

La Concha Resort

This hip resort is a sight and destination to behold. As one of Puerto Rico’s hottest luxury hotel destinations, this La Concha pleases architects, builders, construction managers, beach bums, and everyone else alike. The resort features the famous seashell shaped floating restaurant which has been praised as a marvel in engineering and architecture. This beautiful structure bounces light off the water and waves along with the rippling surface. There is so much to love about this destination–beautiful scenery, beaches, night life, and so much more.
