On Wednesday January 6th, 2013, my stylist friend Tamae, her puppy Fatty (@FattytheChi) and I hit the fashion previews in New York.

First stop was debut collection bella line at The Carlyle Hotel. Inspired by the sophisticated working woman, Bella Linea is designed to be comfortable, practical, classy and chic. We love the fact that the designer, Stephanie Reilly just graduated from FIT in December of 2012, and all items are designed and made in New York with the highest quality fabrics.

Stop two was at the Baryshnikov Arts Center for the Rita Vinieris Fall 2013 Collection. Elegant, effortless and ultra-modern, the glam gown focused on bias cuts, simplicity of shape, gentle flow and organic ornamentation. Some were lingerie-inspired, while others used embroidery to enhance the feminine lines of the look.

Last stop was a total surprise, with the super hipster line Degen. The show was more of a trendy hangout, with models sporting ” Mold Sweaters” “Weird Growth Sweaters” and “Germy Pants”. All in all, it was a fun, push-the-limits line for those craving a different look and feel.

We ended the day at a private event for Marni at Saks Fifth Avenue, where the designer Consuelo Castiglioni was hosting. As people that were not on a 10 day cleanse sipped champagne and noshed on passed silver-trayed appetizers.
