I enjoyed reading your post regarding the luxury dining in Ambleside We run a Luxury Bed and Breakfast in The lake District and we would definitely recommend Dodds and Zeffirellis- not a vegetarian but this place would convert you- but overall Ambles side lacks good places to eat and especially to have a great pint of real ale unless your a Robinsons fan, which I am not. Lucys is another place to eat and The Glass House but had mixed reports about these places. There is The Log Cabin which has an interesting history and we have eaten there. We are in Windermere and by comparison have much better places if your foodie. We have deals with places like Cedar Manor, Holbeck Ghyll and Gilpin Lodge- free glasses of champagne if you stay at 1 Park Road but then I am biased
