The immaculate grounds of The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
When you think luxury, rarely does Orlando come to the top of that list…until recently.
We spent a weekend at the brand new Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and were impressed with the comfort, amenities, level of service and attention to detail.
Done with an understated Disney theme (Mary Poppins fountain in the lobby, some various artwork in the rooms) the Grand Floridian embodies the classic Victorian era. Whitewashed buildings, immaculate grounds and red thatched rooftops are all par for the course.
The Villas are set apart from the main resort, and have their own personalized check-in and lobby. Upon check-in (and hearing a “Welcome Home!” from every employee you pass), you will recieve an ID bracelet that works as a room key as well as to charge items to the room.
The comfortable and stylish bedroom.
The Villas are all quite large, with options ranging from studio to three bedroom. The one bedroom I stayed in featured a full-sized kitchen, breakfast nook, living room, flat screen TV’s, gigantic bathroom with glass shower, old-fashioned tub and TV inserted into the vanity mirror, walk-in closet, King-sized bed, washer/dryer and terrace overlooking the lake.
For me, one of the best highlights was the view. Overlooking the look you could glimpse boats drifting by and the sun rising at dawn. Calming, relaxing and the perfect way to end your day.
