Extraordinary Journeys is teaming up with renowned conservationists and film makers Beverly and Dereck Joubert to offer a10-day Botswana Safari benefiting Great Plains Foundation’s Zeros for Rhinos, an initiative dedicated to relocating 100 rhinos from poaching hot-zones in South Africa and Zimbabwe to the safety of the Okavango Delta.
On this safari guests will enjoy game viewing in Botswana’s two prime wildlife areas:Selinda Reserve and the Okavango Delta. The safari concludes with three nights on the Zambia side of Victoria Falls. The cost of all accommodation at Zarafa Camp is being donated to this cause by Great Plains Conservation with additional funding from Extraordinary Journeys. You will be a hero for conservation while staying in truly outstanding camps.
Highlights Include:
- Ten nights at three exclusive camps: Duba Plains Camp, Zarafa Camp and the Islands of Siankaba Lodge;

- Lots of optional adrenaline pumping activities at Victoria Falls including elephant back safaris, abseiling, heli-flips and white water raftingadventures along the Zambezi (Grade 5) as it carves its way through one of the most spectacular river corridors in the world.
The first three days of the safari will be spent in the heart of the Okavango Delta, the earth’s largest inland water system supporting a vast array of animal and plant life. Guests will spend these three exhilarating days enjoying a personalized exploration of the delta on game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, mokoro excursions, walking safaris and night game drives. Nights will be spent at the exclusive Duba Plains Camp. Built upon an island, this intimate camp is surrounded by 86,000 acres of uninhibited wildlife reserves.
From the Okavango Delta guests are whisked off to the Selinda Reserve where they will spend the next four days. This 320,000 acre reserve, located in northern Botswana, is home to a wide variety of species including African wild (painted) dog, large elephant herds, sable antelopes, rare roan, zebra and nocturnal wildlife. After long days filled with prime game viewing, guests will unwind in marquis styled tents while enjoying breathtaking views of the Zibidianja Lagoon at the private Zarafa Camp. Zarafa is widely acknowledged to be the most luxurious and best located camp in Botswana.
The last three nights will be spent in Zambia at The Islands of Siankaba Lodge, a serene tented camp featuring seven tents raised above the ground and set among the tree canopy along the edge of the Zambezi River. Guests will be located within miles of Victoria Falls, UNESCO World Heritage site and natural wonder of the world. Here guests will have their choice of optional activities including, a dip in Devil’s Pool overlooking the Falls, elephant back safaris, abseiling, heli-flips and a white water rafting adventure along the mighty Zambezi River.
Pricing begins at $12,000 per person and includes accommodations at Duba Plains Camp, Zarafa Camp and Islands of Siankaba Lodge. Travel is valid from Nov 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015. International flights are not included. Almost $6,000 of the cost of the safari goes to Zero’s for Rhinos.
