Art Markit, an online shopping destination for art inspired items is bringing its unique concept pop-up experience to Miami’s Art Basel this year. Taking over Mondrian South Beach’s poolside area, Art Markit invites art lovers to shop its unique product selection featuring designs from dozens of well-known and up-and-coming artists.
Curated by Doreen Remen, founder of Art Markit and CoFounder of Art Production Fund, the shop will have a large selection of diverse products on-hand for shoppers to enjoy and choose from.
Shopping highlights include: the launch of Nir Hod’s ‘The Night You Left’ cell phone cover ($75.00), a Collection Sale of limited edition skateboards from artists Murakami, Andy Warhol, John Baldessari, Jeff Koons, Christopher Wool, Richard Prince and more ($2,000-$8,000), Dee Ocleppo x Mark Quinn Totes – of which all proceeds go to Autism Speaks ($375), Special Edition Warhol Surfboards ($6,000), and Yoshitomo Nara paper items ($10 and under).
Merging high art with real life, Art Markit’s Pop-Up will invite guests to enjoy one-of-a-kind complimentary nail art manicures by Vanity Projects, helmed by Rita de Alencar Pinto. Guests can choose from an array of custom nail designs inspired by Baron Von Fancy, Kusama, Baldessari, Zoë Buckman, Curtis Kulig, Barbara Kruger, Mel Bochner, and many more.
In addition to Art Markit’s Pop Up, Mondrian South Beach is set to bring guests a truly remarkable and visually immersive setting. Cocktails will be available at the custom Baron Von Fancy bar created specifically for the event. Additionally popular gallerist and curator Eric Firestone will kick off his latest curatorial initiative, the Teepee project as part of the weeklong experience. The Teepee project invites a group of emerging, contemporary artists to modify and reinterpret traditional Native American teepees. Artists Jen Stark and Misaki Kawai have been tapped for the first installation. Their 22ft teepees will adorn the event space for all to enjoy.
“Art Markit is all about shining a spotlight on the world of artists’ items. Bringing together products from vendors, producers, arts organizations and studios around the world is what we do, so the mix of events coordinated by the Mondrian South Beach for Art Basel is a perfect match! We’re thrilled to be part of the art festivities.” www.artmarkit.com #ArtMarkitAB
