Maestro Dobel Tequila founder Juan Domingo Beckmann and fashion hat designer Nick Fouquet hosted the exclusive launch of the world’s first ever smoked silver tequila: Humito.
Unveiling exquisite tequila, straight from the hands of eleventh-generation distiller, Juan Domingo Beckmann, Maestro Dobel is redefining the category once again by creating the world’s first ever smoked silver tequila called “Humito.” Spanish for the word “little smoke”, Humito replicates artisanal methods from over 200 years ago, using mesquite wood to embue an extraordinary aroma and taste hearkening back to the original 17th century spirit.
To commemorate the launch of this rare tequila, Beckmann partnered with French-born hat designer and fashion icon, Nick Fouquet, to co-host the private launch party. Both creators and visionaries in their respective industries, Fouquet treats each hat like a piece of art, the same way Beckmann treats each handcrafted bottle.
With cocktail and food pairings by premier New York City Mexican eatery The Black Ant, Mixologist Gustavo Ortega-Oyarzun had guests savoring signature cocktails of The Guava Smolder, Smokey Negroni and Humito Neat as Chef Antrio Hernandez plated up modern Mexican bites that incorporated black ants and grasshoppers, including Ceviche de Cobia, Sopes de Longaniza, Tostadas de Pato and Grasshopper Chocolate Tart.
