If you have seen the news, you will notice that the only place in the United States with decent weather at the moment is Florida. Welcome to Miami, people! Home to beautiful people, small bikinis and eclectic food, something for everyone!

We decided to hang tight after Art Basel and explore Miami and its (warm) culture. Check out some of the things we found:

Play Art Connoisseur at Art Basel Miami.

Switzerland’s sophisticated Art Basel chose Miami for its first American sortie, and the galleries and dealers showcase more than 1,000 artists and over 200 galleries from around the world the first week in December. Other satellite fairs including the NADA fair, Pulse, SCOPE and Design Miami. Jet setters also breeze into town for the special shows, galas, parties and events. For information, visit www.artbaselmiamibeach.com.

Explore South Beach.

Home to models, surfers, fitness buffs, sidewalk cafes, boutiques, bars, lounges and energetic clubs, South Beach is a great place to people watch and to be watched. Have fruity drink, a healthy salad and just chill out.

Puff on a Havana in Little Havana.

We stopped by Little Havana for a taste of Cuba. Cubans in Miami are incredibly proud of this neighborhood, located on Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) and the surrounding area. This area is filled with restaurants and shops that are replicas of ones in Cuba. Check out Mediterranean-style houses with rocking chairs on the porch, the scent of tobacco and energetic latin music filtrating the air.

Check out these good eats.

Miami is known for its Cuban food, but the truth is you can get anything under the sun. We went romantic with dinner at Casa Tua, dined on sliders, a wedge salad and brussel sprouts from Meat Market, had a clean, fresh classic Greek Salad from the casual Eat Greek, did a traditional steak and wedge salad at Smith & Wollensky, sampled several decadent martinis, mixed bruschetta and a chicken salad to die for at Segafredo L’ Original,  had a lunch meeting with paninis, pastas & salads at Ice Box Cafe and went vegetarian with a Java’s Famous Salad and Caprese Pita Melt at Juice & Java Natural Food.
