Americans have a great love for choppers, as these machines have been around for more than a decade. As a result of that, today choppers have become a part of America’s culture, while Harley-Davidson and Indian have emerged as the two premium manufacturers of such motorcycles in the country. Riders feel pride in owning a chopper that carries the name of Indian or Harley-Davidson. However, now other motorcycle makers have also jumped into this market by introducing their own versions of the choppers. One of these manufacturers is Yamaha, which has swept the motorcycle lovers off their feet when it revealed world’s first 24-karat gold plated Road Star BMS Chopper.
The spellbinding two-wheeler of Yamaha is actually a ‘metric’ chopper that was designed and built by Sam Nehme, owner of Florida’s premium motorcycle custom and dealership store, Broward Motorsports and BMS Choppers.
The gold plated motorcycle of Yamaha was built in 2006 and instantly the bike made history by becoming the first ever metric chopper to win the Biketoberfest Rats Hole show in the 38-year long history of the event. The Road Start chopper was declared as one of the most costly bikes in the world. The labor cost alone of Nehmesis is US $250,000.
The above cost of Nehmesis does not include the expense on gold plating, parts and paint job. This does not mean that you will not find ideal gear for this expensive bike, as motorcyclemegastore.com has solve this problem by offering a wide a variety of motorcycle gears.
The 24-karat gold plated Yamaha Road Star mounts a 1,700cc V-twin engine, but it offers only a single seat that is covered with fine red velvet like a king’s throne. The length of the bike is 3.5 meters and it incorporates a single-sided “fork” on the front that was created after extensive testing and design work. The bike also includes an air-ride system. In addition, there is a single-sided swing-arm rear suspension in Nehmesis that enables the riders to lift the bike up to 25 centimetres from the ground or bring it down to the surface level.
BMS Choppers has developed the frame without front down tubes. A newly designed tail light is incorporated on the edge of the rear fender and according to riders the best thing about the Nehmesis is that it has an automatic clutch and a smart handgrip on the left side that enables the riders to switch gears by rotating it. The grip also allows the rider to control the air-ride suspension of the gold-plated cruiser.
Together these advanced features and the splendid design of the Nehmesis has made people instant fans of this dazzling chopper, whenever it has made an appearance at an event or show. The beautiful design of the Nehmesis has won the chopper several awards.
