Whether you are going to San Francisco, Munich, or taking a cruise ships to Greece this season, there are several basic outfits that you will need.
Prim and Proper
Every vacation deserves at least one formal or party event. It may be your cousin’s wedding, or nights out at the clubs, and you will need a solid outfit for it (or five).
The most obvious choice is a cute party dress. Deep reds and purples are common fall colors, as well as emerald green.
Since temperatures are cooling down, dresses that fall just above the knee and lace sleeves are the best combination of sexy and practical.
If it is a particularly cold night, sheer stocking are also a good choice. They also create a smoothing effect of the legs, eliminating any appearances of cellulite or bruises, while still giving the appearance of visible skin.
Going Casual
You’ll want several casual outfits for your autumn adventure, and they are easy to piece together. Bring a couple of different pairs of jeans- colored skinny, boot cut dark wash, and the tattered light wash are all versatile.
While leggings shouldn’t be worn with a short t-shirt and sandals, they do work well with long shirts or sweaters, and tall boots. Bring a pair in black, and another fairly neutral color such as dark blue or grey.
Fall is all about the accessories—scarves and chunky necklaces are must haves with casual outfits.
Notice as well the importance of layering as well. If you have 5 t-shirts, 5 pairs of pants or leggings, and 3 cardigans, you have 75 different outfit combinations to choose from!
Swimwear
No matter where you are going you will also want one swimsuit—even if you don’t plan on swimming. Many hotels will have an indoor pool and hot tub, which can be a nice way to unwind after a long day, or a substitute for hitting the gym if there isn’t a fitness facility available. Hot-tubbing is also a great social activity if you befriend locals.
Recycling your favorite summer suit is just fine, but you will also need some sort of cover-up for when you leave the water.
Fall fashion is all about versatility and accessories– use this to your advantage. With a few basic pieces you will have endless possibilities for every unexpected situation.
